Centralized Scheduler

Overview Shift’s Available: Days Employment Type: Full Time Hours: 8am to 430pm Location: Southern Regional Medical Center - Riverdale, GA The centralized scheduler is directly accountable to the Admitting Leadership the Centralized Scheduler routinely schedules tests/procedure cases for all patients where services occur as a scheduled event. Responsibilities Responsibilities • This may include, but is not limited to; Clinic visits, Surgery, G.I. Lab, Cardiac Cath Lab, Radiology, Respiratory Therapy, Nutritional Services, Infusion units or any other location where scheduling of a test or procedure may occur. • Coordinates with departments as necessary. • Ensures that accurate, complete and thorough patient demographics are entered into the computer system, including insurance and authorizations if applicable. • Notifies departments as necessary of various services that may require, equipment, instrumentation and supplies from outside vendors for scheduled surgeries. • Prepares and distributes the surgical schedule and on call list to appropriate departments or personnel. Qualifications Qualifications • High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires). • Knowledge of multiple insurance authorization requirements. • 1-2 year previous experience in a hospital environment preferred. • Knowledge of medical terminology. • Effective written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines. • Analytical and problem-solving skills. • Customer Services experience required. • Strong clerical and computer skills.
