What We Offer Hematologist/Oncologist — Hematologic Malignancies & Cellular Immunotherapy Novant Health Cancer Institute · Charlotte, North Carolina Build the next chapter of a dynamic program that blends direct patient care and cutting-edge research The Hematologic Malignancies and Cellular Immunotherapy Program at Novant Health Cancer Institute is recruiting a BC/BE hematologist/oncologist to join our physician team in Charlotte. This is a rare combination: a FACT-accredited transplant and cellular therapy program with its own outpatient CAR-T unit and on-site cell processing lab, a clinical research portfolio that publishes in the top journals in our field, and the collegiality and growth of an integrated health system rather than the bureaucracy of a large academic center. About the Program: Our program has served patients across North Carolina since 2018 and offers the full range of modern therapy for blood cancers: • FACT-accredited Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Program performing allogeneic and autologous hematopoietic cell transplantation • Commercial CAR-T cell therapy across approved indications in lymphoma, leukemia and myeloma, with investigational immune effector cell therapies on trial • Dedicated outpatient Cellular Therapy and Apheresis Unit with continuously monitored patient rooms purpose-built for outpatient CAR-T delivery, located in our state-of-the-art Cancer Institute building in uptown Charlotte • On-site Weisiger Cellular and Immunotherapy Lab , a $4 million, 2,000 sq ft facility for processing, cryopreservation and development of patient-specific immune effector cell products • Deep clinical research portfolio spanning phase 1 through phase 3 trials in lymphoma, CLL, myeloma, leukemia and cellular therapy • A publishing team. Our physicians have authored and co-authored work in the New England Journal of Medicine , The Lancet , Journal of Clinical Oncology , Blood and Nature Medicine , lead practice-changing trials, and chair sessions at ASH and other national meetings • Our faculty hold academic appointments through the UNC School of Medicine. The Opportunity: You will practice malignant hematology the way it should be practiced: focused, well supported, and connected to the science. • Choose your focus. Concentrate on a single disease state (lymphoma, CLL, myeloma, acute leukemia, MDS, transplant or cellular therapy) or keep a broad malignant hematology practice. We will build the role around your strengths and interests. • Practice with a real team. An experienced group of advanced practice providers, oncology clinical pharmacists, BMT-certified nurses and dedicated transplant and cellular therapy coordinators manage the day-to-day so you can focus on decisions that need a physician. • Lead and publish. Serve as site principal investigator and work alongside colleagues who are already authoring in the leading journals and presenting at ASH, ASCO and EHA. • Grow with the program. Novant Health Cancer Institute has expanded rapidly over the past five years, with new facilities in Charlotte and a second FACT-accredited site in Winston-Salem. Leadership roles are available for physicians who want them. • Work among colleagues, not competitors. A collegial, physician-led culture where cases are discussed openly, call is shared fairly, and new ideas get a hearing. Compensation and Benefits: • Generous wRVU-based compensation with a two-year guaranteed base salary , allowing you to build your practice without financial pressure • Relocation assistance and CME allowance • Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, retirement plan with employer contribution, paid malpractice with tail coverage, and generous paid time off • Protected time and institutional support for clinical research • Academic appointment available through the UNC School of Medicine • Employed position with Novant Health Medical Group, one of the largest physician groups in the Southeast Qualifications: • MD or DO; board certified or board eligible in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology • Fellowship training in hematology/oncology; additional training or experience in hematopoietic cell transplantation and cellular therapy welcomed but not required • Eligible for medical licensure in North Carolina • Interest in clinical research and in building a focused practice within malignant hematology • Experienced physicians and graduating fellows are both encouraged to apply • H1b-visa opportunities are available • This opportunity unfortunately is not open to J1-visa applicants Life in Charlotte: Charlotte is one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the United States: a major banking and business center with a mild four-season climate, excellent public and private schools, a direct-flight international airport, professional sports, a thriving food and arts scene, and a cost of living well below most comparable cities. The Blue Ridge Mountains and the Carolina coast are each within a few hours' drive. Novant Health is a not-for-profit integrated system of 19 medical centers and more than 2,000 physicians in over 850 locations, as well as numerous outpatient surgery centers, medical plazas, rehabilitation programs, diagnostic imaging centers and community health outreach programs. Novant Health's nearly 40,000 team members and physician partners care for patients and communities in North Carolina and South Carolina. #MakeHealthcareRemarkable #JoinTeamAubergine #NHMGphysicians #NovantHealthCancerInstitute Why Choose Novant Health?
