Get to Know Your Team: • Lovelace Westside Hospital provides care to Albuquerque’s Westside and Rio Rancho, including a 24-hour emergency department and a wide range of inpatient and outpatient surgical capabilities such as Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT), bariatric, and orthopedic service lines. Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech: Responsibilities Assists surgeons with surgical procedures within the operating room under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, including conveying sterile instruments and supplies used in basic to complex surgical procedures. Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety. Qualifications Job Requirements: • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or clinical-based program. • Anatomy and Physiology, sterile technique, medical terminology, instrumentation, and medical equipment knowledge. • Clinical Competencies; Sterilization techniques; Operating Room instruments and supplies; medical terminology. • Six (6) months of experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery unit. • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. Preferred Job Requirements: • Certified OR Tech. • One (1) year OR experience, • CORT or CST.
